It’s never easy to ask for help, especially when the request is so deeply personal. Ken has been battling polycystic kidney disease (PKD) for many years, facing the daily challenges this illness brings—fatigue, uncertainty, and the weight of a future that depends on finding a living kidney donor. Currently, Ken is one of over 100,000 people in the U.S. waiting for a lifesaving kidney transplant. It can take years to find a match, and while he waits, I worry that his health may continue to decline. But despite all the hurdles Ken has faced, the one thing that remains unwavering is his hope for a better future. I’m hopeful, too.

Ken is a dedicated husband to his wife Cheryl, and their bond is a true testament to love and resilience. They’ve supported each other through difficult times, including Cheryl’s battle with cancer. Together, they’ve dreamed of a future where they can enjoy life and travel. A kidney transplant would be life-changing for Ken—giving him the energy he needs to stay active at work and finally pursue those dreams with Cheryl.

Here’s something I recently learned that’s really cool: when someone donates a kidney, the remaining kidney grows to take over the full function needed for the body. It’s incredible how the body adapts to provide such a profound gift.

As Ken’s advocate, I’m here to help spread the word and ask anyone who can, to consider becoming a living kidney donor. Every share, every conversation, and every connection brings us closer to finding a match. Please take a moment to read Ken’s story and help us spread the word. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. https://giftworksuuh.com/kenl/
