Donors Give, And They Receive

One of the most beautiful things I’ve learned on this journey is that living kidney donors don’t just give a gift—they receive one too. So often we focus on what the recipient gains (and rightfully so!), but we rarely talk about the deep sense of purpose donors feel after choosing to save a life.

As someone who has been living with kidney disease since I was 16, I’ve seen the other side of that gift. Dialysis takes so much from me—my energy, my independence, my ability to work full time, and even simple joys like swimming. A transplant would give me the chance to reclaim those parts of my life. It’s truly the ultimate gift.

But I also know that donors often walk away feeling more connected, more fulfilled, and more aligned with their purpose than ever before. They don’t just help someone else live—they come alive in a new way themselves. They get to say, “I saved a life.” That’s something that stays with you forever.

If you’re even curious about what it means to become a living kidney donor, I invite you to visit my website and complete the short contact form. You’ll be connected with a GiftWorks Living Donor Navigator—someone who’s donated before and can speak honestly about the process and what it meant to them. https://giftworksuuh.com/rindeel/

Your questions are welcome. Your heart is appreciated. And your impact? It could be life-changing—for both of us.

With gratitude,
Rindee
