I’m reaching out today because I’m in urgent need of a living kidney donor to save my life.
I was born with a kidney disease called IgA Nephropathy, which is a degenerative condition. Unfortunately, this led to my kidneys failing two years ago when I was just 24. Since then, I’ve been on dialysis and have been on the University of Utah transplant list for a year. Dialysis has been keeping me going, but it’s tough—on the days I have both work and dialysis, I’m completely drained. On my days off, I’m usually just catching up on sleep. The days I have dialysis feel like they disappear entirely.
If I were to receive a new kidney, my life would change in ways I can barely imagine. I’d have the energy to live fully again—to focus on my dreams of going to college and eventually med school to become a nephrologist. I want to use my experience to help others who are going through what I’m facing right now.
