One of the most meaningful things I’ve learned on this journey is that living kidney donation isn’t just life-changing for the person receiving the kidney, it’s deeply fulfilling for the person giving it, too.
I’ve lived with polycystic kidney disease for over 30 years. My numbers continue to decline, and about to start dialysis, but am desperately hoping for a transplant. The idea of being limited by treatments three times a week is hard to think about. But what gives me hope is knowing there are people out there who feel called to help—who are looking for a way to make a real, lasting difference in someone’s life.
If that’s you, I want you to know this: living kidney donation is not just a medical act, it’s a powerful act of purpose. The recipient gets the ultimate gift: the chance to live longer, healthier, and more freely. But donors often say the experience changes their lives, too. They walk away knowing they saved someone’s life and made a lasting impact on a family, a future, and a community.
If you’re curious or just want to learn more, please visit my GiftWorks website and fill out the short contact form. You’ll be connected to a Living Donor Navigator—someone who has donated a kidney before and can walk with you every step of the way. https://giftworksuuh.com/richardm/ The process is 100% confidential!!
Thank you for reading. And thank you for considering such a meaningful way to bring purpose and hope into both of our lives.
