It’s never easy to ask for help—especially when it’s something this personal. But today, I’m asking on behalf of someone truly special: Steve.
In November 2022, Steve’s life changed dramatically when he was diagnosed with kidney failure and placed in the ICU. Since then, he’s been undergoing dialysis, which keeps him alive but is not a long-term solution. Every day is a challenge—physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Steve is a devoted father and husband. He’s the kind of person who lifts others up, quietly showing up when people need him most. Today, Steve is one of more than 100,000 people in the United States waiting for a lifesaving kidney transplant. The wait can be years long. And while time passes, his health is at risk.
Here’s something worth knowing: when someone donates a kidney, the remaining kidney actually grows and adapts to handle the body’s full needs. Living donors can go on to live full, healthy lives—and they give someone else the chance to do the same.
