Holly Needs a Living Kidney Donor
“If had a new kidney tomorrow, I would have the energy to get up and do normal things that I love to do like spending time with my family, doing crafts, painting, drawing, and seeing friends who I haven’t seen in ages. I would be able to be me again, I haven’t seen that person in a long time.”
Holly’s Story
Holly’s childhood in a quaint small town was adorned with big dreams and a future brimming with promise. However, fate intervened abruptly when she was diagnosed with kidney disease at a young age. With unwavering love and selflessness, her father gave her the gift of life through a kidney transplant. Though she has savored moments of normalcy thanks to her father’s generosity, the relentless nature of kidney disease looms once more. Now, surrounded by the unwavering support of her family and friends, Holly is once again seeking a kidney donor to help save her life.
We Need to Find a Living Donor
A kidney from a living donor would allow Holly to have enough energy to run around with her daughter, spend more quality time with her family, and even do small things such as run errands or do chores around the house. She knows this is a tremendous ask, but is hopeful someone will see her story and make the brave decision to save her life.
Donor Eligibility Requirements
Holly is extremely lucky to have secured highly qualified medical help and support from the team at the University of Utah Health (UUH). She wants any interested persons to know that they will be in exceptional hands should they decide to step forward. UUH has shared the following as a pre-qualification list for donation:
Must be between the age of 18-69 years old.
Must be healthy and free of major health problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, obesity (BMI of 37 or less).
Must be mentally and emotionally healthy.
