The waitlist for a kidney transplant can take five years or more — and for someone like me, that wait feels like an eternity. I was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease in January 2022, and since then, my life has changed completely. Dialysis keeps me going, but it also drains me physically and emotionally. Some days, it feels like I’ve lost the part of me that once loved helping others and being active in the world.
Before I got sick, I was known for helping others. I miss that version of myself. I miss working, contributing, and being able to ease the burden on my wife. I want to return to the life I once had — to give back, to provide, and to feel whole again.
That’s why I’m searching for a living kidney donor. Living donation offers the chance for better outcomes, a quicker recovery, and renewed hope — not just for me, but for my entire family.
My social circle is small, and I know asking for this kind of help is a big thing. But even if you’re not in a place to donate, you can still help by sharing my story. The more people who know, the greater the chance that someone who’s willing and able might come forward.
