I’ve been living with end-stage renal disease since I was 16. My journey began with a trip to the ER for a migraine, only to discover that my blood pressure was dangerously high. Since that day, my life has been a constant battle. I’ve had to rely on dialysis, and that has impacted so many aspects of my life—working full-time, traveling, and even doing simple things like swimming. I’ve learned to live with limitations, but the dream of a better life never fades.
A living kidney donation is my best chance at a transplant. While a transplant is not a cure, it would bring incredible change to my life. It would mean I could pursue the career I’ve always dreamed of, enjoy the simple joys of swimming again, and wear clothes that make me feel confident. Most importantly, it would restore a sense of freedom and hope that I haven’t felt in years.
