It’s never easy to ask for help, especially when the request is so deeply personal. Breeden has been battling kidney disease for decades—facing the harsh reality of kidney failure not once, but twice. In 1998, her mom gave her the gift of life through a kidney transplant that lasted nearly 25 years. That kidney gave Breeden the chance to live, love, and grow.
Now, she’s back on dialysis. Every day is a delicate balance of treatments, energy, and stress. But through it all, what stands out most about Breeden is her strength, her deep love for her husband and family, and her desire to live fully again—traveling, working, and reclaiming the everyday joys that so many of us take for granted.
Currently, Breeden is one of more than 100,000 people in the U.S. waiting for a lifesaving kidney transplant. It can take years to find a match, and while she waits, my worry is that dialysis will continue to take a toll on her health and quality of life.
Here’s something remarkable I’ve learned: when someone donates a kidney, their remaining kidney grows and adapts to do the job of two. The human body is incredible—and so is the generosity behind living donation.
As Breeden’s advocate, I’m asking for your help. Please consider sharing her story. Every post, every conversation, every act of awareness gets us one step closer to finding her match.
